The Moroccan Parliament "reconsiders" its relationship with the European Parliament

MADRID, 23 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Moroccan Parliament has decided on Monday to "reconsider" its relationship with the European Parliament after the body approved a resolution that criticized the situation of press freedom in the country, as well as the alleged bribery scheme to gain influence in Brussels.

"We are going to send the minutes and the press release resulting from this plenary session to the Presidency of the European Parliament, as well as the decisions that will be taken later," announced the spokesman for the Moroccan House of Representatives Rachid Talbi Alami, as reported by the newspaper 'Le Matin'.

The European Parliament approved last Thursday by 356 votes in favor, 32 against and 42 abstentions a resolution that called for respect for freedom of expression and the media, denounced the use of the espionage program 'Pegasus' and also demanded " a fair trial" for jailed journalists Omar Radi, Sulaiman Raisuni and Taufik Buachrine.
