Vladimir Lengvarsky has submitted his resignation as head of the Slovak Ministry of Health alleging an environment of "political corruption" in his environment, of which he also denounces a certain "inexperience".

Lengvarsky took office in April 2021 - when Slovakia registered one of the highest mortality rates in the world due to the coronavirus - and has recalled that since his arrival the vaccination process was promoted and conditions improved in hospital and outpatient setting.

"We also adopted a series of amendments to the laws and experienced a completely unnecessary doctors' strike, which was caused by the policy of the former Minister of Finance and the Government Office," Lengvarsky has recriminated, who has claimed to have "been through a lot." during his term in government.

"I have been through a lot, but in this scenario, when the work of my colleagues is discredited, and despite the fact that our Ministry is the winner in the recovery plan, (...) I will no longer work under pressure in such an environment, which is currently harmful, full of political corruption and political inexperience," he said.
