Russia says it has no knowledge of the peace plan Zelensky is talking about

MADRID, 23 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Russian authorities have assured this Friday that they have no record of the alleged peace plan that the President of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelenski, spoke at the United States Capitol in the framework of his historic visit to Washington.

The Kremlin spokesman, Dimitri Peskov, has criticized that, when talking about the plan for peace, President Zelensky "does not take into account the current realities" of the war in Ukraine. "They cannot be ignored", he has underlined himself.

Peskov has thus reacted to Zelenski's words in Washington, where he claimed to have discussed with his American counterpart, Joe Biden, a ten-point peace plan to implement security. "We need peace, and Ukraine has already offered proposals," he said.

The newspaper 'The Wall Street Journal' announced on Thursday that the Ukrainian authorities would be working on the details of a peace proposal, which could see the light of day next February, the date on which the first year of the outbreak of the war.

Speculation about a possible peace plan or about returning to the dialogue table to reach an agreement between Russia and Ukraine have once again gained prominence in recent weeks, although it is true that the international community has advocated leaving in kyiv hands the times for this process.

The president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, already indicated on Thursday that "sooner or later" both parties would end up sitting down to negotiate to end a war that he himself started. The Russian president took the opportunity to recall that the vast majority of international conflicts that have been resolved have been done through diplomatic channels.
