Russia estimates 87,000 reservists sent to combat zones in Ukraine

MADRID, 1 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Russian government has sent to the battlefront in Ukraine some 87,000 of the 300,000 reservists called up by the partial mobilization decree imposed by President Vladimir Putin to strengthen military capacity after the latest defeats on the ground.

Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu confirmed the figure on Tuesday, noting that those who have gone to fight in Ukraine previously received training to try to prepare for a deployment in a combat zone, according to the Interfax agency.

The Kremlin spokesman, Dimitri Peskov, has also declared the partial mobilization decree "executed", reports the TASS agency.

The Government has indicated that the isolation offices will only recruit volunteers from this moment. One of those responsible for recruitment in the Armed Forces, Sergei Pobirojin, has stated that more than 75,000 people have voluntarily registered to participate in the conflict.
