COMMUNICATION: World Intergenerational Week 'CEOMA for an inclusive society for all ages'

For two days, the head of international projects at CEOMA, Ángel Yagüe, has met with a group of experts from several European countries in the fields of sociology, organizations of older people and the silver economy where the value of the findings from the survey "Unifying Generations: Building the Pathway to Intergenerational Solidarity" published by Edwards Lifesciences. This report demonstrates the need to change the perception of the value of people over 65 years of age and their cohesion with younger generations.

During the meetings it has been agreed to change perceptions to communicate a more realistic narrative of the positive and unifying role of older people; improve digital skills to reduce isolation and ensure even greater intergenerational cohesion and promote mentoring opportunities for older people to pass on their knowledge, experience and skills.

In this sense, CEOMA is committed to developing a roadmap that encourages collaboration between interested parties - from companies and associations to cities and governments - to reinforce intergenerational solidarity. World Intergenerational Week, which this year was celebrated from April 24 to 30, is an annual campaign that aims to highlight the importance and benefits of intergenerational practice.

Promoted by the World Health Organization (WHO), within the framework of the United Nations (UN), and led by civil society, it aims to highlight the importance and benefits of intergenerational practice.
