Netanyahu announces a "tough and precise" response from Israel after the attacks in Jerusalem

MADRID, 29 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, has assured that the Israeli government has undertaken a "hard, fast and precise" response after the attacks last Saturday in Jerusalem, which cost the lives of seven Israelis.

In his meeting this Sunday with the Israeli Council of Ministers, Netanyahu confirmed one by one the first measures adopted on Saturday night by the Israeli authorities, such as the acceleration of the process of issuing firearms to the population with a license or reinforcement of the security contingent.

"We are empowering our security forces while we punish the attackers and those who support them," said the prime minister, who also confirmed that the Israeli government "will revoke national documents and social security benefits for the families of those who support terrorism."

"We are going to harm those who want to harm us", the Israeli prime minister assured during the Council of Ministers, in statements collected by 'Yedioth Aharonoth'.

The Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, has announced for his part that he will propose the legalization of several settlements in the West Bank -- seven, one for each Israeli who died on Saturday -- and the imposition of the death penalty for terrorists.
