Kuleba asks ICRC for help to stop forced deportation of minors to Russia

MADRID, 10 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Ukrainian Foreign Minister, Dimitro Kuleba, has requested the collaboration of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to stop the forced deportations of Ukrainian minors to Russian territory.

Kuleba held a meeting this Saturday with the president of the ICRC, Mirjana Spoljaric, in which he conveyed his gratitude for the work carried out in Ukraine, but has asked to redouble these efforts.

"I have asked the ICRC to help us stop one of Russia's most heinous crimes, the forcible transfer of Ukrainian children, return them to their homes and prevent illegal adoption," Kuleba said on his official profile on the social network Twitter.

Spoljaric traveled to Ukraine last Thursday as part of a four-day visit to the European country that has led him to meet with residents of Mikolaiv and Kherson and to meet the teams working in the east of the country, near the front of hostilities. .

Also coinciding with his trip to Ukraine, Spoljaric confirmed that members of the organization would carry out new meetings with Ukrainian prisoners of war in the hands of Russia to check their state of health.
