At least nine police officers killed and eleven injured in an attack in southwestern Pakistan

MADRID, 6 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) -

At least nine police officers have died and eleven others have been injured this Monday in a bomb attack in Balochistan, in southwestern Pakistan.

The Balochistan Police have indicated that preliminary evidence suggests it was a suicide attack. However, the exact cause of the explosion could be determined after investigations.

The people who have been injured have been taken to nearby hospitals, while the area has been cordoned off and security forces are in the area to defuse the bombs.

The region has had the presence of the separatist group Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) since the 2000s, considered a terrorist organization by Pakistan, the United Kingdom or the United States. Since then it has waged a bloody struggle with the Islamabad authorities to achieve self-determination for Balochistan.
