A man kills three women and wounds four others by opening fire in a bar in Rome

MADRID, 11 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) -

At least three women have died and four other people have been injured by the shots fired by an individual during the meeting of co-owners in a neighborhood in Rome and for which a 57-year-old man has been arrested as the main suspect in the crimes.

The meeting was taking place in a bar in the Roman neighborhood of Fidenas when an individual burst in shouting "I'm going to kill you all", according to witnesses to the newspaper 'L'Stampa'. Two of the injured, according to medical sources, are in serious condition.

Shortly after the incident, an individual identified as Claudio Campiti, 57 years old and with no criminal record, was arrested, who had previously published threats on social networks against those responsible for the condominiums, accompanied by neo-Nazi symbols.

According to 'L'Stampa' sources, Campiti committed the crimes with a .45 caliber Glock pistol, which he had rented at a shooting range.

The mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri, confirmed the deaths in a "very serious episode of violence" that has "convulsed" the Italian capital.

"Three lives lost and seriously injured in a shooting during a condominium meeting. I am in contact with the Prefect and tomorrow (Monday) I will participate in the Order and Security Committee. My support for the families," he announced in his account Twitter.
