The technicians detail what the envelopes looked like, their reception and what protocols were followed

MADRID, 22 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The security managers of the bodies that received a series of explosive letters have corroborated this Thursday before the judge of the National Court that is investigating the facts the version that they offered to the Police, and that included specific details about the appearance of the packages.

Legal sources have explained to Europa Press that, in their statement before the head of the Central Court of Instruction Number 4, José Luis Calama, the technicians have detailed how the letters were received, what controls were established and how they proceeded in accordance with the corresponding protocols.

It should be remembered that the instructor had summoned to testify this Thursday the security managers of the Presidency of the Government, the security technicians of the Ministry of Defense, the head of Security of the US Embassy in Madrid, the guard of the Ukrainian embassy the one who exploited the letter and the members of the security service of the European Union Satellite Center based in Torrejón.

The sources consulted have indicated that the statements have not provided more details than those that already appeared in the corresponding reports. The witnesses have referred to the factual facts: when they received the envelopes, what they looked like and, in the case of the Ukrainian legation worker, details about the detonation that caused injuries to his hands.

After this round of statements, the magistrate still has to take a statement from the worker of the Zaragoza Instalaza company, who also received an explosive letter.

It was last week when the instructor requested the statements before the Police of the security officials themselves, the same ones that they have corroborated this Thursday. In addition, the judge urged the agents to report and detail what materials the packages were made of.

The magistrate has been investigating since last November the sending of a series of letters that contained pyrotechnic material. One of them was sent to the Chief Executive, Pedro Sánchez, on November 24, after the services of the Security Department of the Government Presidency, in the tasks of screening and filtering correspondence, detected a suspicious postal shipment. It was an envelope addressed to the President of the Government that had been sent by ordinary postal mail.

Due to its characteristics and content, this envelope would be similar to those received by the Ukrainian Embassy and the United States Embassy in Madrid, by the Instalaza company in Zaragoza, by the Torrejón Air Base and by the Ministry of Defense.
