The Junta de Extremadura has stressed this Thursday that "if there is an issue that collides with the 'only yes is yes' Law, let it be fixed", but "beyond the noise, it must be made clear that this legislation is much better than the one that was in this country".

This was stated this Thursday by the Minister for Equality and Cooperation for Development, Isabel Gil Rosiña, during the presentation of the campaign for 25 N, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

Gil Rosiña has insisted that the Government of Extremadura is not aware that any sentence review has been requested in the region adhering to this new regulation, but it is a question that the judicial authorities must answer, the counselor pointed out.

"In this country we do not want more herds or that the herds go unpunished", he stressed, for which he has underlined the progress of Spanish legislation in the fight against gender violence, an issue in which Spain is at the forefront of the world, he has stated.
