Mozo refuses to convene the plenary session of the CGPJ that the conservatives requested because the names of the candidates for the TC are missing

MADRID, 13 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The interim president of the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ), Rafael Mozo, has refused to convene the extraordinary plenary session requested by the conservative members, alleging that they have not accompanied their request with the names of at least two candidates for the Constitutional Court (TC). .

As reported on Tuesday by the governing body of the judges, Mozo has made this decision after the conservative members demanded on December 9 that the meeting urgently be called to include the appointment of the judges on the agenda. magistrates to the guarantee court.

However, Mozo explains that "the request formulated in this way cannot be addressed in application of article 35, second paragraph of Regulation 1/1986 of Organization and Operation of the CGPJ, which requires the provision of all documents, if any, related to the agenda of the plenary session when the holding of an extraordinary session is requested".

The interim president of the CGPJ referred specifically to compliance with two rules of procedure. They indicate that the plenary session will be called when agreed by the president on his own initiative or requested by at least five members. That request to call the Plenary, however, must include the names of two candidates.
