Justice now allows citizens and companies to access the electronic judicial file

MADRID, 1 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) -

This week, the Ministry of Justice has enabled access to the Electronic Judicial File (EJE) for citizens and companies that are involved in a legal proceeding, a "solution" that, according to Minister Pilar Llop herself, "meets all the guarantees without the need to travel to the judicial body, which represents a significant saving in time and travel expenses".

As reported by the Ministry, the head of Justice has ensured that this service is part of "a new model of Justice operation, more transparent and closer to the public, since it democratizes electronic access to judicial information established in procedural law".

This service, made available to users through the 'Access' platform, allows controlled and secure access to the electronic judicial files of which they are a part and have a proven legitimate interest, in accordance with the provisions of the Organic Law on General Council of the Judiciary, of accessory aspects of judicial proceedings and procedural laws.

From Justice they have explained that 'Acceda' already allows these demands to be met in Ministry territory (autonomous communities of Extremadura, Castilla-La Mancha, Castilla-León, Murcia, the Balearic Islands, the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla, the Supreme Court and the National Court ) and in all judicial bodies of La Rioja and the Principality of Asturias. In addition, judicial bodies are in charge of reviewing and responding to requests, thus maintaining full control of judicial documentation.

The Ministry has emphasized that since the services for Justice professionals were launched in December 2020, more than 228,890 files have been downloaded, "with an estimated saving of 27 million euros and the issuance to the atmosphere of 2,000 tons of CO2, the equivalent to the circulation of 1,526 cars in a year".
