Zelensky assures that the improvement in nuclear security in Zaporizhia begins with the IAEA mission

MADRID, 20 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The President of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelenski, has assured this Friday that the restoration of safety at the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant can begin with the mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

"Ukrainian diplomats, our partners, UN and IAEA representatives are working on the specific details of the mission to be sent to the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant," Zelensky explained before adding that "with this mission, the restoration can begin. of total security.

In this regard, the Ukrainian president stated that "if Russian blackmail with radiation continues, this summer may go down in the history of several European countries as one of the most tragic of all time."

Likewise, Zelenski has criticized "another aspect of Russian blackmail in the field of energy" by mentioning the closure of gas pipelines.

"Gas supplies to Germany via Nord Stream 1 are being restricted again and absurd claims are being made again that it is possible to offset something via Nord Stream 2," he said. According to the leader, Russia needs these "flows exclusively to supply problems to Europe", not to supply gas.

Zelenski has criticized that Moscow remains in the European energy market and has urged the countries of the old continent to reduce their energy dependence on Putin. "The sooner everyone in Europe prepares their power systems to exist without any supply of power carriers from Russia, the sooner they can safely survive the winters," he said.
