Zelenski criticizes the global security architecture after the escalation of tensions in Taiwan and the Balkans

MADRID, 4 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky criticized the global security architecture on Wednesday for considering that it does not work, pointing not only to the war in Ukraine, but also to the escalation of tensions in recent days in the Balkans, Taiwan and the Caucasus.

"All these situations seem different, although they are united by one factor: the global security architecture has not worked," Zelensky said in his daily speech to the Ukrainian population, where he assured that the Russian invasion of his country has made them understand what fragile that is "our freedom".

In this sense, the president of Ukraine has assured that the Ukrainian people have united "the free world not only around their struggle for freedom, but also around the understanding of how fragile our freedom is."

"This fragility can only be protected through joint action, and for this to work in the long term, there must be an effective global security architecture that ensures that no state can resort to terror against another state again," the head of state detailed. , ensuring that Ukraine is already working on it.

The words of the Ukrainian president take place after an increase in tensions has been registered in recent days in regions such as the Balkans, with the episode between Kosovo and Serbia; in Taiwan, after the visit to the island of the United States House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi; or after the death this Wednesday of several Armenian and Azeri soldiers in clashes near the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region.

On the other hand, Zelensky has asserted that Russia is beginning to realize the "inevitability of being recognized as a terrorist state."

"After all that the Russian Army and Russian, supposedly private, military companies have done, no other terrorist organization in the world can claim the primacy of terror. Russia is definitely number one among terrorists. And this definitely deserves legal consequences." , in particular, in the decisions of the United States and other world players," said the President of Ukraine.

Faced with "Russian propaganda", according to Zelensky, which tries to imply that Russia wants peace negotiations, the Ukrainian president has stated that if the Russian side "really wanted the end of the war, "it would not have taken its reserves to the south Ukraine and would not have produced mass graves of the murdered".
