Zelenski affirms that Russia has fired at least 28 missiles on Ukrainian territory during the day

MADRID, 11 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The President of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelenski, has affirmed that Russia has fired at least 28 missiles against Ukrainian territory on Tuesday, of which 20 were shot down, and has specified that Moscow has also mobilized 15 combat drones of Iranian origin.

"If it weren't for today's attacks, we would have already restored the power supply, water supply and communications that the terrorists damaged yesterday. Today Russia will only achieve one additional thing: it will delay our recovery a bit," he said.

In this regard, he thanked the population for limiting their own electricity consumption during peak hours -- from five in the afternoon to eleven at night -- since, as a result, it has been possible to save "one tenth of the energy on average in the country", with the consequent improvement in supply.

The Ukrainian president also dedicated a few words during his appearance to the next military meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (UDCG), also known as the 'Ramstein format', scheduled for Wednesday.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmigal said on Monday that kyiv hoped to repair the electrical infrastructure damaged by the latest attacks launched by Russia on several cities in the country, including kyiv, and that have left at least eleven dead.

"The electricity supply has been interrupted in almost the entire country. There are problems with the water supply in eight regions," he said after asking the population to limit electricity consumption.
