Ukraine thanks the US for its "unwavering support" after the Russian invasion

MADRID, 24 May. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dimitro Kuleba thanked US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Tuesday for Washington's "unwavering support", translated into military, political and humanitarian support measures.

"More weapons, including heavy weapons, are heading to Ukraine while Russia continues its devastating attacks in Donbas," Kuleba said on his Twitter account, where he reported a telephone conversation with the head of US diplomacy.

Both have talked about ways to "unlock" Ukrainian exports and ensure food security. Blinken has acknowledged that there is a global food "crisis" as a result of the "brutal war" launched by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The two ministers, who met on May 15 in Berlin, have also talked about diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict and the need for "the Kremlin to be held accountable," according to a statement from the US State Department.

Blinken has also reaffirmed the "strong support" of the United States for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
