Ukraine confirms having received a new emergency loan from the IMF worth 1.3 billion dollars

MADRID, 13 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Ukraine's Prime Minister, Denis Shmigal, has confirmed that kyiv has received 1.3 billion dollars (a similar figure in euros) in emergency financing from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for the war unleashed in February.

"The funds will be used to finance priority needs," he said, before detailing that they include "strengthening defense capabilities, paying pensions and social programs, and supporting the economy."

Thus, he has indicated in a message on his Telegram account that "in total, the IMF has delivered to the country 2,700 million dollars since the beginning of the large-scale war", in decision to the invasion order given on February 24 by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"In the near future, I will begin preparations for a new special program that will start next year. We thank partners and allies for their unwavering support," the Ukrainian prime minister concluded.
