The US Justice prohibits abortion in the state of Kentucky

MADRID, 2 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) -

A United States appeals court has temporarily restored the laws that prohibit abortion in the state of Kentucky and agrees with prosecutor Daniel Cameron, who has applauded the measure and has insisted that he will continue working to "defend the constitutionality of these guarantees for women and unborn children.

The measure has taken place after a US judge last June blocked the laws that govern this practice in the region and that involve the prohibition of it in its entirety unless the mother's life is in serious danger. .

The implementation of these laws came after the Supreme Court of the country revoked the constitutional right to abortion after annulling the ruling Roe v. Wade, which established jurisprudence and recognized the right of women to abortion without restrictions during the first trimester of pregnancy, a legal precedent that has been used since 1973.

"I appreciate the court's decision, which allows Kentucky's pro-life laws to go into effect," Cameron, a Republican, said on his Twitter account. The order has gone ahead in response to a lawsuit that sought to overthrow, precisely, these laws, according to information from the CNN television network.

Previously, the court, as well as the Supreme Court, have thus refused to reverse these laws, one of which sets a deadline of six weeks of pregnancy to perform abortions.
