The Government of the United Kingdom announced this Monday new sanctions against three senior officials of the Iranian Moral Police and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard in retaliation for the wave of protests that has been shaking the country for weeks over the death of the young Mahsa Amini in custody for wearing the veil incorrectly.

"These sanctions send a clear message to the Iranian authorities: we will hold them accountable for their repression of women and girls and for the horrific violence they have inflicted on their own people," the British foreign secretary said in a statement. James Cleverly.
