The Senate does not rule out a plenary session before the end of the year, which could leave another face to face between Sánchez and Feijóo

MADRID, 8 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Senate maintains the possibility of holding one last control session before the end of the year, which would take place on Tuesday, December 20, coinciding with the debate on the General State Budget. There is also the unknown of the presence of the head of the Executive, Pedro Sánchez, who could reissue a new 'face to face' with the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, as confirmed by various parliamentary sources to Europa Press.

The processing of the Budgets occupies the entire month of December in the Senate, first with the debate on the vetoes --amendments to the entirety-- and then with the partial amendments and the rest of the opinion, although in this type of plenary session they usually debate other laws and on occasion there has been a control session, as happened last year.

In this context, the Senate does not close the door to a final control session to say goodbye to the year 2022, in addition to including in this plenary session the reform of the Penal Code to repeal the crime of sedition, although in the latter case it will depend of the deadlines of the Congress.

There is also the unknown of the presence of Sánchez in this possible last control session, since, according to Europa Press, parliamentary sources point out, it will depend on his international agenda if it finally ends up being held.

If it occurs, the 'face to face' between Sánchez and Feijóo would take place in this case through a question in plenary, and it would be the fifth time that both leaders hold a parliamentary debate in the Senate.

Of course, two of them were through the appearance of Sánchez at his own request in the Upper House, while both the first and the last 'face to face' have taken place in control sessions, with assessed time.
