Pilar Alegría contrasts the "speed" of the PSOE with the "laxity and compadreo" of the PP when it comes to tackling corruption

MADRID, 6 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The spokesperson for the Federal Executive of the PSOE, Pilar Alegría, has warned this Monday that the socialist formation will not allow "generalized smear campaigns against innocent people" for the plot related to the former PSOE deputy Juan Bernardo Fuentes and after the ' mediator' pointed to other socialist parliamentarians.

"In the face of corruption, zero tolerance, but we are not going to admit widespread smear campaigns against innocent people either," Pilar Alegría defended at the traditional Monday press conference when asked about this Mediator case.

What's more, from the PSOE they hope that there will be more than ten demands from party deputies against the mediator for pointing them out directly, according to socialist sources.

In any case, Alegría has stressed that the PSOE "has been forceful" expelling the deputy Juan Bernardo Fuentes and demanding the minutes in the first minutes that these facts were recorded and has called on other parties to act "with the same diligence" .

Here, the socialist spokeswoman has contrasted the "two very different models" that, from her point of view, exist when it comes to tackling the latest cases of corruption: "Speed and forcefulness on the part of the PSOE and absolute laxity and camaraderie on the part of the PP".

In fact, Alegría, who has been asked on several occasions about this case of the Mediator, has extolled the way of approaching this matter compared to how the Popular Party has done it, giving as an example the senator and mayoress of Marbella, Ángeles Muñoz, or the request of the Prosecutor's Office for the former minister Jorge Fernández Díaz.

"The Prosecutor's Office has requested fifteen years for Fernández Díaz and as far as I know he is still not expelled by the PP, as of March 6, the PP also continues without giving explanations to the public for this increase in assets of a woman who is a senator, who sits next to Feijóo and is mayoress of Marbella", has sentenced.
