The PSOE maintains the increase in military spending and emphasizes that businessmen also "put their shoulders to the wheel"

MADRID, 29 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The PSOE has defended that it is a party of "words and deeds" and has reiterated its commitment to increase military spending in the next Budgets, although Vice President Yolanda Díaz has said that this issue was not included in the first meetings on the PGE. In addition, and regarding the support of the United We Can to the unions against the CEOE employers, the socialists emphasize that the businessmen also "put their shoulders together".

At a press conference from the socialist headquarters in Ferraz, the party's spokeswoman and Minister of Education, Pilar Alegría, has been repeatedly questioned as to whether the PSOE would renounce the commitment to increase military spending to carry out the General State Budgets, given that his partner in the Government -and other formations- oppose such a measure announced by the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez.

"We are going to answer the question through the facts", Alegría maintained, referring to the approval of the two previous budgets and limiting himself to saying on several occasions that the "aspiration is to improve the quality of life of citizens". In addition, she has stressed that the Executive thinks of drawing up the public accounts "in a timely manner".

In this sense, it has reiterated that the PSOE trusts the negotiations of the social agents when questioned about the recent criticism of Yolanda Díaz directed against the employers. According to her, both employers and unions "have put their shoulders to the wheel, unlike the PP", which is why Alegría has asked for respect for the area of negotiation.

The explanations of the spokeswoman have been offered after presenting the calendar of "mass mobilizations" within the PSOE campaign with the slogan "The Government of the people", for which they want to involve the mayors and militants. To this end, this Monday at the appearance at a press conference, the Mayor of Vigo, Abel Caballero, also took part.

In this sense, he pointed out that the objective of the PSOE is "to turn the polls around", since they are convinced that "the street has not been lost".
