The PP demands that Sánchez withdraw the decree of the energy saving plan and leaves it up to its CCAA to appeal it

Call on the Chief Executive to suspend his vacation and call the Conference of Presidents for this week

The Deputy Secretary of Organization of the PP, Miguel Tellado, has demanded that the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, immediately withdraw the decree that includes the energy saving plan because, as he has denounced, "it has been prepared behind the backs of the communities, the town halls and the economic and social agents", although it has given "autonomy" to its regional Executives to appeal it if they consider it so.

In a press conference from the national headquarters of the PP, Tellado has spoken in this way about the meeting that the Government has held with the autonomous communities to address the energy saving plan, denouncing that this decree is the result of "an improvisation" .

In this context, Tellado believes that the PP cannot support this decree in Congress, as the text is currently drafted, although it has given the PSOE and Pedro Sánchez "the right of doubt" to improve the plan. "If you are willing to listen to us, we would consider the possibility of supporting you," he has proclaimed.

Regarding the meeting of the third vice president and minister for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, Teresa Ribera, with the regional councillors, the 'popular' leader has proposed to the Government that it "change criteria": "It is not about imposing, but to encourage".

FREE WAY TO APPEAL

That yes, Tellado has avoided advancing if the PP is considering taking this royal decree to the Constitutional Court alleging that they have just requested that it be withdrawn immediately, although it has left the possibility of their appeal to the autonomous communities.

"The communities have full autonomy to adopt the decisions they deem appropriate," Tellado defended when asked if the party's national leadership would support the respective regional executives who decided to take the decree to the Constitutional Court.

Thus, Tellado has warned that if any autonomous community considers that the decree invades powers, "there is a margin for them to appeal if they consider it so." "Full autonomy to develop their own skills, how could it be otherwise", he insisted.

Otherwise, taking up the request made this Sunday by the president of the PP, Albero Núñez Feijóo, to urgently convene a Conference of Presidents to address the energy saving plan, Tellado has insisted on calling for a meeting of this multilateral forum this very week.

Thus, he has demanded Sánchez to "suspend his vacations" and to "rejoin immediately" to urgently convene this Conference of Presidents in the face of the "disagreement" that different autonomous communities are expressing.

On the possibility that there are at least ten autonomous communities that force the convening of this Conference, Tellado has described as "regrettable" that "Sánchez has to be dragged" to meet the presidents.

"If the PP must obtain the support of at least ten autonomous communities to convene the Conference of Presidents ex officio, it is because Spain has ceased to have a legitimized president," the 'popular' leader has sentenced.
