The PP demands that Batet carry out an internal investigation by Congress and clarify whether evidence of the 'Mediator case' has been destroyed

MADRID, 7 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The PP has asked the president of Congress, Meritxell Batet, to launch an internal investigation to, among other things, clarify whether evidence related to the 'Meditor case' and the "spurious" use that the former Canarian socialist deputy Juan Bernardo Fuentes Curbelo, nicknamed 'Tito Berni', could have acted as "elements and resources" of the Chamber, calling into question "the image and decorum" of all the deputies.

This has been announced by the second vice president of Congress, the 'popular' Ana Pastor, before participating in the meeting of the Chamber Table in which the PP is going to formally make that request to Batet.

Pastor has reproached the president of Congress for not giving "not even an explanation" about how this case affects the image of the Chamber and has demanded to know "if evidence" related to the plot has been destroyed and "if it has been ensured that that is not produce".

The vice president of Congress has assumed that "elements and resources" of the Chamber have been used in a spurious manner and that "the office has been accessed" that Fuentes Curbelo had been using.

For all this, it has called on Batet to "report in a public statement everything that has happened", what measures have been adopted in this regard and what more things remain to be done.

"The decorum and dignity of the Chamber have been seriously altered, this must be repaired and the powers correspond to the president", Pastor has sentenced.

This Monday, the president of Congress asked to comply as soon as possible with the request made by the judge who is instructing the 'Mediator case' to access the effects that Fuentes Curbelo left in the office that he had been occupying in the Chamber until he left its minutes on February 14.
