The OECD warns of the deterioration of the growth of Spain

MADRID, 11 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The composite index of leading indicators (CLI), which serves the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) as an 'economic thermometer' to detect changes in trend, continues to indicate a loss of momentum in growth in Spain, in line with the deterioration observed in most major advanced economies.

Specifically, the data for Spain stood at 97.91 points in September, compared to 98.11 the previous month and 3.83 points below the level recorded a year ago.

"The CLI of Spain continue to point to a loss of growth momentum, like most of the large OECD economies," they explained to Europa Press from the 'think tank' of the most developed economies.

In the case of the Spanish economy, the largest negative contributions come once again from inflation, consumer confidence and the evolution of share prices, which are only partially offset by the expansions observed in car registration and manufacturing new.

In the case of the OECD, the CLI have stood at 98.56 points, compared to 98.77 the previous month, which points to a loss of growth momentum, something that is also applicable to the euro zone and the United States. States, whose readings have fallen in September to 98.32 and 9.48 integers, respectively.

Thus, among the G7 economies, only Japan, with a reading of 100.5 points, offered signs of stable growth.
