The Colombian Army kills the head of the 36th front of the FARC

The Colombian authorities have confirmed this Friday the death of Ricardo Abel Ayala, alias 'Cabuyo', alleged leader of the dissidents of the 36th front of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) in a joint operation of the Colombian Army and the Colombian Prosecutor's Office in the north of the department of Antioquia, in the center of the country.

"We continue to show the narco-terrorists who intimidate the Colombian people that they have no place to hide. Thanks to the work of our national Army, alias 'Cabuyo', leader of the FARC dissidents on the 36th front, was neutralized. pay," declared the president of Colombia, Iván Duque, in a message on his Twitter profile.

'Cabuyo', presumed head of the FARC dissidents in Valle de Aburrá, in the department of Antioquía, was one of the peace negotiators with the Colombian government of Juan Manuel Santos, although he later defected and assumed the leadership of the dissidents from the 36th front of the guerrilla, as reported by 'El Espectador'.

"This is an operation against one of the symbols of evil that violated all kinds of crimes and damages in this area of ​​Colombia," said the Colombian Defense Minister, Diego Molano, about 'Cabuyo', for whom the Colombian government offered a reward of one billion Colombian pesos (about 245,000 euros).

The alleged leader of the FARC is accused of crimes related to homicide, drug trafficking, arms trafficking, illegal mining and extortion, according to 'El Colombiano'.

On October 2, 2021, the murder of four young people took place in the municipality of Anorí, in the northeast of Antioquia. The victims, according to the authorities, were kidnapped by the dissidents led by 'Cabuyo' in the urban area of ​​that municipality and taken to a rural area, where they were killed, according to the aforementioned newspaper.
