Spain reaches its best historical position in the FIFA ranking

Those of Vilda, sixth in the world, gain two places after the draw with Sweden and the victory over the United States

The Spanish women's soccer team was placed this Thursday as the sixth best team in the world, according to the FIFA ranking, after their draw against Sweden and the historic victory against number one, the United States, last Tuesday.

Spain thus reaches its best historical position, climbing two rungs to be ahead only by the United States, Sweden, Germany, England and France. Jorge Vilda's team has been endorsed in the ranking the last good week against two top teams, especially the match at El Sadar.

In the Osasuna fiefdom, the Spanish team broke an amateur record and also achieved its first victory against the Americans, world champions. Last Friday, in Córdoba, Spain also showed signs of their ambition with a great performance against Sweden, a draw (1-1) in which they deserved more.

The 'Top 10' of the FIFA world ranking is completed by Canada, the Netherlands, Brazil and Korea.
