Sorribes suffers his marathon premiere in Cleveland and Párrizas convinces in Granby

The Spanish tennis player Sara Sorribes suffered her debut in the Cleveland tournament (United States), in the WTA 250 category and which is played on a hard court, by winning in three sets (7-6(5), 4-6 and 6 -3) to the Colombian Camila Osorio, in a duel that touched the four hours of play.

In the tournament leading up to the US Open, the Spaniard fought and sweated to get her first victory in Cleveland and advance to the round of 16. In a true battle, the number 46 in the world overcame the pressure in a match that had to be interrupted after the first set -which lasted more than an hour and twenty minutes-, which fell on Sorribes' side after the 'tie -break'.

After the restart, the Spanish paid for relaxation and mistakes at key moments. The Spaniard lost her serve 4-3, causing the tie for the Colombian, number 71 in the world, who then kept her serve and returned to make a 'break' to Sorribes to place the 4-6 in this second set.

In the third and final set, the one from Castellón de la Plana continued to ride the roller coaster of the duel, although this time she knew how to be more consistent, breaking the Colombian's service up to four times, who threw in the towel and saw how Sorribes closed the match with a 6-3. Now, her rival in the second round will be Belarusian Aliaksandra Sasnovich, seeded number 7 in the tournament.

For her part, the also Spanish Nuria Párrizas defeated the Swedish Rebecca Peterson, number 83 in the world, in a placid debut in the tournament in Granby (Canada), with a convincing 6-2 and 6-1. She is already waiting for the British Harriet Dart in the second round.
