MADRID, 17 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has had words of remembrance for the victims of the jihadist attacks five years ago in Barcelona and Cambrils and has encouraged them to move forward "united for freedom and coexistence".

In a message on Twitter, Sánchez denounced that "in August 2017, Barcelona and Cambrils suffered hatred and terror in their streets" due to the double terrorist attack that left 16 dead and more than a hundred injured.

"Five years later, we remember the victims of these attacks with our sights set on continuing to build a future of peace," said the President of the Government. Thus, he has sent a message to the public encouraging them to continue "advancing together for freedom and coexistence."

His words came before the tribute to the victims that took place in Barcelona, boycotted by forty independentists and attended by the Ministers of Culture, Miquel Iceta, and the Minister of Transport, Raquel Sánchez.
