Six raises profit by 12% until June

The Six Group, operator of the Swiss and Spanish stock exchanges, recorded a net profit of 121.3 million Swiss francs (122 million euros) in the first half of the year, which represents a growth of 12.1% compared to the profits recorded in the same period of 2021, the company reported this Friday.

"Despite the turbulent market circumstances, we have achieved a solid result in the first half of the year," said Jos Dijsselhof, CEO of Six.

The manager's operating turnover between January and June reached 751.7 million Swiss francs (759 million euros), 0.8% above the group's income in the first half of last year.

Likewise, the result before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) registered a decrease of 5.5% compared to the previous year, to 213.7 million Swiss francs (216 million euros).

Revenues from the Exchanges unit amounted to 196.9 million Swiss francs (199 million euros), 4.8% less, while Securities Services contributed 228.4 million francs (231 million euros), down 1, 7% less.

On its side, the Banking Services business had a turnover of 110.9 million Swiss francs (112 million euros), 13% more, and the Financial Information business unit contributed 193.3 million Swiss francs (195 million euros). ), 0.7% more.

Looking ahead to the second half of the year, Six expects to largely continue the development seen since the beginning of the year and maintains its growth strategy and medium- and long-term sales and cost targets published in March.

One of the company's objectives will be the business with digital assets and the offer of data in the ESG area. At the same time, net debt will continue to be reduced continuously.

Likewise, Six highlighted that the continuous integration of BME will continue to be an important aspect in the second half of the year.

In this sense, Six recalled that during the first semester it implemented a series of steps, including the introduction in February in the Spanish market of the CONNEXOR reference data platform, already consolidated in the Swiss market, and, since June, allowing clients the settlement and custody of Swiss securities through the Spanish central securities depository Iberclear.
