Real Madrid thrashed Sturm Graz (6-0) and reached the final of the first qualifying phase

MADRID, 18 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Real Madrid qualified this Thursday for the final of the first qualifying phase of the women's 'Champions League' after ruthlessly thrashing Austrian Sturm Graz (6-0), with the leading role of Esther González, author of four goals, in a round night in Valdebebas.

The merengue striker was in charge of opening the scoreboard at the Alfredo Di Stéfano stadium with a high-carat header. A goal that confirmed Real Madrid's dominance just after the first quarter of an hour had elapsed. The Sturm Graz tried to stretch without luck.

The second goal of the night was the work of the French Naomie Feller, brand new signing this summer in the white box, after culminating an outstanding collective play. Her shot -at the first touch- reflected the hunger of Alberto Toril's players, who did not consider the match won and continued to press their rival despite the income achieved.

The downpour for the League runners-up in Austria came in the second act. Esther González, at 52 minutes, took advantage of a great cross from Kenti Robles to score her second goal of the night, also with a header, prelude to the 4-0, also with her signature, which she uploaded ten minutes later.

The festival of the Andalusian striker was completed with a control on the edge of the small area, a sensational break and a simple but very practical definition (5-0). The victory was closed by Athenea del Castillo with the sixth, a right hand 15 minutes before the final honk.

A victory that cites the whites against Manchester City this Sunday in the final to stay alive in the Champions League (9:00 p.m.), a rival that they already beat last season also in the preliminary phase. If they beat the English, there would still be round 2 so that Real Madrid could certify their ticket to the group stage.
