Podemos calls the 'Mediator case' "very serious" and warns that corruption distances progressive voters from politics

Echenique criticizes the hypocrisy of the PP, which he says is the "most corrupt" party in Europe

The spokesman for Unidas Podemos in Congress, Pablo Echenique, has stated that the 'Mediator' case is "extremely serious" and deserves his "most forceful" condemnation, to underline that this plot is not a minor matter, as it involves "illegal and immoral", and that corruption alienates the progressive electorate from politics.

However, he has assured that they are not going to "play along" with the PP and will not support any parliamentary initiative in this regard that comes from the "most corrupt party on the continent", which has the Gürtel case on its record and is now displaying "hypocrisy". .

At a press conference in Congress, the leader of the purple formation commented that the 'Mediator' plot reveals that there are still many transformations to be made in the country and that, precisely, Podemos broke into the political scene to stop " normalize" corruption by "bipartisanship.

He has also alluded to the situation of the mayoress of Marbella Ángeles Muñoz (PP), whose husband and stepson are being investigated in another case, and has proclaimed that to guarantee "cleanliness and transparency" in the institutions, Podemos has to obtain more strength after this electoral cycle with a view to combating this type of case more forcefully.

And it is that Echenique has criticized that what they are learning about 'Mediator' is "very serious" because not only is a commission investigation by businessmen and senior officials being investigated, with the alleged involvement of a former PSOE deputy in Congress, but also the spending that money to hire prostitution and drug services.

Asked if he thinks that there are more deputies from the socialist caucus involved, Echenique has replied that this point would have to be tested and that there is only, for the moment, some journalistic information about a meal organized by the plot where more parliamentarians were invited.

However, he has insisted that the corruption that had been normalized in the bipartisanship is one of the few things that keeps the progressive electorate away from politics, because it affects the credibility of the citizenry over the institutions.

On the other hand, and in reference to the WhatsApp messages of those involved in 'Kitchen' published by the newspaper 'El País', Echenique has indicated that he reaffirms what was already known in this case and in "the vigilante plot" in the Ministry of Interior during the stage of the PP whose objective was the "defamation" of Podemos, with accusations and attacks without evidence against its formation.

In short, he has denounced that this case was an attempt to "spurious and illegal alteration" of the rules of the democratic game of "extraordinary gravity".
