Panama seizes nearly three tons of drugs in various operations

Panamanian authorities have seized nearly three tons of drugs in various operations carried out in recent hours in the Central American country.

The Panamanian Drug Prosecutor's Office has seized a total of 2,996 packages of suspected drugs, in joint operations with the National Aeronaval Service (SENAN).

In the region of Colón and Guna Yala, the authorities have seized 2,006 packages and a firearm, after intercepting a boat, according to a statement published by the Public Ministry.

The crew members, noticing the presence of the SENAN units, tried to flee, so the chase began. "Until now, the search for the boat's navigators is maintained," says the letter.

Meanwhile, in a second operation, in this case in the port of Panama City, the Prosecutor's Office has seized 990 packages from the United States and destined for Belgium.

The drug will be subjected to expert analyzes to verify the type and weight of these substances, indicates the Public Ministry.
