Lukashenko warns that Western policy could lead to a third world war

MADRID, 13 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Belarusian president, Alexander Lukashenko, warned this Thursday that the policy promoted from the West could lead the world to a third world war, for which he stressed that the answer "must be unequivocal" given that "the conflicts that have shaken the Old World have already reached Asia."

During his speech on the occasion of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Measures in Asia, Lukashenko stressed that the "practice of organizing coups in third countries and the dictatorships of the sanctioning countries do not fit with the norms of International Law".

"The risk of starting a third world war in which there would be no winners is unacceptable. Things have to be thought through given that the situation has deteriorated catastrophically not only in Europe but globally," he said.

In this sense, he has urged the countries of the region to "join forces". "Belarus cannot ignore current issues. I am convinced that the time has come to unite to confront the problems that are before us and that we cannot overcome independently," he said, according to information from the BelTA news agency.

"We will be strong only if we manage to benefit from joint work and solve the most complex issues when it comes to guaranteeing the supply of energy, food and fertilizers", he pointed out before indicating that "we need the most favorable formats for trade and investment" .
