Announces lawsuits by socialist deputies against "journalists who are shooting at everything that moves" in this case

MADRID, 1 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The socialist spokesman in Congress, Patxi López, has acknowledged this Wednesday that the PSOE is aware that "some" of its deputies went to a dinner organized by the 'Mediator' plot and that they have communicated this to the party, although He has rejected that they later participated in parties with prostitutes and cocaine: "Not at all."

Asked in an interview on Antena 3, collected by Europa Press, in case he is aware that the Socialist deputies only went to dinner, López answered in the affirmative: "Yes, in some cases, with which we have spoken and with which we have proof of who have been able to attend a dinner". "Dinner, period", he has emphasized himself.

And when he has been asked if these deputies have transmitted it to the party, he has affirmed that "yes", at the same time that he has taken away iron to have dinner without falling into corrupt practices.

Immediately afterwards, when asked if he is aware that those parliamentarians went to the after-parties with prostitutes and cocaine, López has flatly denied it: "Not at all." And he has reiterated that they will expel the party that has been corrupted.

"If there had been parties in which some had participated, it would have been very unethical and not at all consistent with the conduct that a socialist deputy must have," he stressed.

Regarding whether he is concerned that this case ends up splashing more deputies and socialist representatives, the PSOE spokesman has expressed that "no", but that he wants to know "all the information" that the judicial investigation provides with "all the means".

Nor has López shown concern about what the supposed mediator of the plot, the businessman Antonio Navarro Tacoronte, may continue to say, who in an interview revealed having organized a dinner at a luxury restaurant for Fuentes Curbelo and fifteen socialist deputies, later accredited by the Civil Guard.

"I believe that the 'mediator' is fair. In other words, someone who is caught up in a corruption scheme can say anything. That is why what I expect is justice," the spokesperson stated.

He has doubted that a commission of inquiry, such as the one that some of his parliamentary partners are willing to support, will yield more results than the one followed by justice. "The commissions sometimes become catwalks for the 'and you more'. It is a wear and tear for all politics, it ends up in that all are equal", he has opined.

On whether he is concerned that there are European funds in the commissions that the plot for the installation of photovoltaic panels would have charged, he has acknowledged that it would cause him concern if it is proven. Having said this, he has once again called for justice to determine what has happened to, "from there, act."

And questioned if he believes that it will affect the PSOE electorally, López has said that he does not know, but that he will give them freedom, when what has happened is known, to make decisions.

On the other hand, López has indicated that the PSOE will sue those --and "some journalist"-- who accuse their deputies of being involved in the 'Mediator case' without evidence.

"As soon as we know the data from the investigation, we will act and sometimes we will sue. It's enough to shoot everything that moves with the only circumstance that it is socialist," he denounced, recriminating that they put PSOE deputies "in a target" as "corrupt" when "they have simply gone to dinner".

López has charged against "journalists who are shooting at everything that moves", against "men and women deputies who are already filing complaints to defend their honor, because they have not been to dinners or have participated in anything at all", he added.
