The director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, announced on Monday morning that the agency's experts are heading to Ukraine to visit the Zaporizhia plant.

"The day has come, the IAEA support and assistance mission for Zaporizhia is already underway," Grossi wrote on his Twitter account, before showing himself "proud to lead this mission."

Thus, it has specified that the mission will work at the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant throughout this week.

In this line, the director general of the IAEA has urged to "protect the security of Ukraine and the largest nuclear facility in Europe".

Previously, on Sunday both the Russian Ministry of Defense and the Ukrainian state energy operator, Energoatom, confirmed the total normality in the radiation levels of the Zaporizhia nuclear plant, the scene of fighting for weeks in the framework of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. .
