Garzón warns that assuming tax reduction frameworks on the left is incoherent and means "losing in advance"

MADRID, 28 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The IU federal coordinator and Minister of Consumption, Alberto Garzón, has warned that assuming the "tax reduction" framework from the progressive arc is "losing in advance" and "is not consistent with any leftist program."

This has been transferred on social networks a day after the announcement of the reduction in taxes via personal income tax announced by the socialist president of the Valencian Community, Ximo Puig, and from which the head of the Treasury, María Jesús Montero, has distanced himself. The president of Aragon, Javier Lambán, also admitted the "possibility" that taxation in his autonomous community could be changed if the four parties that make up the Government agree.

For his part, the president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, appealed after this decision for consistency to the PSOE in the face of its rejection of the proposal to deflate personal income tax and lower VAT on basic products.

For Garzón, adopting this framework of lowering taxes supposes the early defeat of the left, given that this discourse feeds "those who hate what is public." "The rights of working families are based on fair and progressive tax systems. Harming those systems is not consistent with any leftist program," he said in a message on Twitter.
