Garzón underlines his abolitionist position regarding prostitution and trusts in a norm that also protects women

He stresses that progressive fuel aid is part of the negotiation and defends that it would be "ideal"

MADRID, 7 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Minister of Consumption and federal coordinator of IU, Alberto Garzón, has stressed that he has always maintained an "abolitionist" position on prostitution and that it is time to address the debate in Congress to see how regulations are specified, which in any case must protect to the women who, out of necessity, have been pushed into this activity.

This has been stated before the media after attending the launch of an EFSA campaign, asked if he has an abolitionist or regulationist attitude in the face of the proposal to take into consideration the Law to abolish prostitution promoted by the PSOE in the low camera.

In this sense, Garzón has made it clear that his position is in favor of the abolition of the phenomenon of prostitution, as is his political formation, so they will maintain that position at all times with an emphasis on the protection of women.

The confederal group will display freedom of vote in the face of the vote on the PSOE initiative, given that Podemos and IU will support the socialist proposal but the commons, with more regulationist positions, have not yet revealed the meaning of their vote.

On the other hand and on whether there will be progressivity in the discount on fuel within the extension of the anti-crisis decree, the IU leader has stated that it is part of the negotiation and that it will be necessary to see how it can be technically specified as soon as possible.

"Of course we have raised (from United We Can) the desire, that what is interesting and ideal is to be the most focused in the provision of aid. When one wants effective aid it is evident that one has to discriminate", he explained to insist that a person who has economic needs is not the same as another with an income of 100,000 euros per month.
