Gamarra criticizes that Sánchez gives lessons on the Welfare State when Spain is "much worse" and there is more poverty

"It is time to change and since you do not change, the Spaniards will change their ruler", snaps the 'number two' of the PP

The general secretary of the PP, Cuca Gamarra, stressed this Thursday that Spain is "much worse" politically and economically, with more Spaniards in a situation of poverty and social exclusion. For this reason, he has blamed the head of the Executive, Pedro Sánchez, who dares to give "lessons" about the Welfare State, especially when, as he recalled, in 2010 as a deputy he voted in favor of "freezing" pensions and "the drop" in the salary of civil servants.

In his speech at the plenary session of the Congress convened to debate the anti-crisis measures of the Government and the European Council in Prague last week, Gamarra criticized the "propaganda" and "electoralism" with which Sánchez has conducted himself and has summoned to "look at Portugal" and "take an example".

The leader of the PP has criticized Sánchez for boasting of social cohesion and the Welfare State when "there are more Spaniards in a situation of poverty and exclusion than when he came to the Government", according to data from the INE, and "today the middle classes are suffocated". What's more, she has said that she has "given many elections on the Welfare State" but "breaches" a resolution of the Debate of the Nation on cancer.

On the political level, he has stated that they are "much worse" because the institutional "degradation" "has no limits" with Pedro Sánchez, citing what happened in the CNI, the CIS, the Prosecutor's Office, the CGPJ and RTVE. Now, he continued, the PP will be attentive to see what "is plotting" in relation to the Council of State. "Governing is respecting institutions and not assaulting them, which is what he does," he denounced.

Next, he assured that they are also "much worse economically" and stressed that the Bank of Spain, the Airef or the IMF already say that the Government's forecasts are "unreal". In his opinion, Pedro Sánchez "mismanages or does not tell the truth" or "what is worse, both things at the same time".

A week after the presentation of the Budgets, Gamarra has indicated that the public accounts "confuse" the Welfare State with the welfare of the Government. "The Welfare State defends itself with economic growth to finance it, generating virtuous circles, not vicious circles", he emphasized.

He has also censured that the Government has decided to "dust off the class struggle in Spain in the 21st century" and has warned him that "he is the wrong adversary" because "it is not about ending wealth but about ending poverty."

Finally, Gamarra stated that in the face of "division", "polarization" and "sectarianism", "another form of government" represented by Alberto Núñez Feijóo is "possible" and that it will be a "soon reality". "It is time to change and since you do not change, the Spaniards will change their ruler," Gamarra snapped at the Prime Minister.
