Funcas observes a maintenance in "the positive trend of employment"

MADRID, 2 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Funcas considers that the Social Security affiliation data in August, with 189,963 fewer average affiliates and 62,135 more workers in seasonally adjusted terms, show that "the positive trend in employment is maintained."

It also highlights "the transfer of temporary affiliates to permanent ones after the labor reform", despite the fact that a moderation is observed in this phenomenon, as indicated in its statement.

Social Security lost 189,963 affiliates in August, with a drop of 0.93% compared to the data registered the previous month, the worst data since 2019, according to figures presented this Friday by the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration.

With this decrease, the total number of contributors closed August at 20,151,001, of which 10,771,093 were men and 9,379,908 women.

In seasonally adjusted terms, the number of Social Security affiliates rose by 62,135 workers, 0.31% more than in July. The seasonally adjusted figure for August is also the lowest since the same month in 2019.

As for the unemployment data, unemployment in August increased by 40,428 people. "In seasonally adjusted terms by Funcas, it is equivalent to a decrease of 16,500 after two consecutive months of increases," they explain.

Funcas also warns that "the impact of the labor reform on the temporary rate is moderating."

The number of unemployed registered in the offices of the public employment services (former Inem) increased by 40,428 people in August, 1.4% more than in July and is once again above 2.9 million unemployed, specifically in the 2,924,240 unemployed, according to data published this Friday by the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy.
