FIFA will distribute more than 200 million euros between the clubs for their footballers during the World Cup

MADRID, 11 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

FIFA announced this Tuesday that it will distribute 209 million dollars -more than 215 million euros- among clubs around the world for their contribution by loaning their footballers to the different teams during the World Cup in Qatar, which will be held on November 20 to December 18.

Thus, this Tuesday the application process for the Club Aid Program was launched. The initiative already distributed the same amount among 416 clubs from 63 member federations after the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

For the first time, clubs will be able to use the Professional Football Platform to request payment of approximately 10,000 dollars -about 10,287 euros- for each day that their players are under the discipline of their national team during the World Cup and the corresponding official preparation.

In this sense, all the clubs in which the footballer has played in the two years prior to the World Cup will receive this compensation.

The Club Support Program is part of a broad collaboration agreement between FIFA and the European Club Association (ECA). Originally created for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, it was expanded in 2015 to include the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.
