Fernando Alonso: "We would be a little better in the wet"

MADRID, 8 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Spanish driver Fernando Alonso (Alpine) considers that they could go "a little better" in the wet than in the dry in Sunday's race at the Japanese Grand Prix, and has assured that this way he could have "more freedom to take some risks" and gain some positions.

"It went well. In the end, having few laps in dry conditions, only in Free Practice 3, we had to improvise the settings for qualifying. I think that tomorrow in the wet we would go a little better, or so it seems. The best thing would be a changing race, in which we could take advantage of an opportunity," he told DAZN.

In addition, the Spaniard stressed that the Alpine is prepared for a race in the wet. "The weather is a bit changeable for tomorrow, but today we went well and we reached Q3 with both cars. If it rains we could risk more than the cars that are playing more important things tomorrow, maybe we could have more freedom to take some risks in the race," he concluded.
