Feijóo advises Cs to "say goodbye" in the "most dignified way possible" because his project has a place in the PP

He predicts a "punishment vote" for Sánchez in the 2023 elections and believes that "millions of socialists" will support the PP or stay at home

The leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has advised Ciudadanos this Thursday to "say goodbye" to politics in the "most dignified way possible" because, in his opinion, he will not have representation at the polls as already happened in the Andalusian elections last June. In addition, he has stressed that his "ideological project" has a place in the Popular Party.

"I think that in that party there are still people who have talent, people who are no longer in Ciudadanos who had talent and I honestly believe that they can be used for politics," Feijóo declared in an interview on Onda Cero, which was collected by Europa Press, at a time when the orange formation is mired in an internal crisis.

In addition, the president of the PP has indicated that the "ideological base" and the "strategic orientation" of Ciudadanos is "subsumed in the Popular Party". "I say this with the greatest respect, but it is one of my objectives," he stated, adding that he does not know "very well" what "Cs' colleagues" are doing after the exchange of statements these days between the president, Inés Arrimadas, and her parliamentary spokesperson, Edmundo Bal.

"I think that Ciudadanos at this moment is a party that must say goodbye to the political sphere in the most dignified way possible because if not, it will not have representation at the polls," he declared, to underline that this formation had done "good management " in the Andalusian Government with Juanma Moreno and "he got zero deputies" in the elections.

When asked if what he proposes is that Cs join the PP or that this party declare itself in liquidation and fish for names like Begoña Villacís there, Feijóo has stressed that the "ideological project of Cs has a place in the Popular Party current", a party that has "acronyms and roots in all towns and places in Spain", something that, according to what he has said, the orange party "has never had".

"We will be attentive to what Ciudadanos does and we will see how the panorama of Cs turns out. I, of course, have no problem with people from Cs who are interested in politics and assess with them if there is any possibility of coinciding, " The leader of the opposition has stated.

Immediately afterwards, Feijóo has affirmed that he believes in the "useful vote" and has been convinced that when the elections arrive, in Spain there will be a "very pragmatic" vote because "there are two possibilities: Sánchez and the independentistas, or the PP".

At this point, he has indicated that "propping up the Sanchista party that is demolishing the 40 years of the PSOE is not in the interest of any socialist." In fact, he has indicated that the "millions of socialists" who are interested in "the return of the Spanish Socialist Party have two possibilities: vote for the PP or stay at home."

"There will be a vote of punishment by the socialists for the Sánchez project because it has demolished the PSOE ideologically, it has mercilessly dismissed socialists who have helped it get to where it is and because it allows itself the luxury of throwing out Mr. Leguina or the Mr. Redondo who are much more important socialists in the history of Spain than him", he assured, to show himself convinced that all this "will have a reaction" at the polls.
