Errejón, summoned this Tuesday to a conciliation act with the man who denounced him for a kick in Lavapiés

The complainant wants the leader to withdraw the accusation of false denunciation and the description of "extreme right-wing energúmeno"

The leader of Más País, Íñigo Errejón, is summoned this Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. to a conciliation act in the Court of First Instance Number 1 of Madrid with the resident of the Madrid neighborhood of Lavapiés who assured that the leader had kicked him the night of May 2, 2021.

The Court agreed on the date of the appearance in a decree issued on December 20, to which Europa Press had access, in which it recalled that the man who denounced Errejón has the obligation to appear. The leader, on the contrary, is not obliged to go to conciliation this act of conciliation, which is a prerequisite for the resident of Lavapiés to file a complaint for an alleged crime of slander and insults against the leader of Más País.

It was last October when the neighbor filed the lawsuit for conciliation in the Madrid Courts for alleged crimes of slander and insults, considering that Errejón violated his honor by having accused him in various interventions in the media of making a false complaint and qualifying him, in the plaintiff's words, "extreme right-wing nerd".

In his letter, the complainant recounts that the Errejón demonstrations occurred after the Provincial Court of Madrid confirmed last September the sentence handed down by the Investigating Court Number 16 of Madrid that acquitted the leader of the minor crime of mistreatment of which he was accused for not being "accredited that he gave a kick."

The Madrid court, specifically, indicated that "the evidence carried out" had not "shown how the events occurred, if they were as" the complainant indicated or if they were as the defendant indicated. "Only the request for the photo by the complainant, the refusal of the defendant and the subsequent discussion between them is proven," he stressed at the time.

"By attributing Mr. Errejón a crime prosecutable ex officio to my client, who was the complainant at the time, and by also describing him as an extreme right-wing madman, he is seriously attacking his honor and his own image and even more so when the complete affiliation and image of my client has been published on numerous occasions in different media," he says.

What the neighbor now wants is, as he requests in his letter, that Errejón "agree to recognize" those words, that he assume that "the criminal acts" that he is accused of are uncertain and that he withdraw the qualification of "extreme right-wing energúmeno" . He also requests compensation of 25,000 euros "for the damage suffered" with this conduct.

The complainant also requests that the leader of Más País immediately publish a rectification with an express recognition "of the uncertainty of the imputed facts." Finally, he explains that, in the event that Errejón does not recognize and accept these extremes, he will file a complaint against him "for crimes of slander and libel."
