The socialist deputy Odón Elorza has denounced a lack of neutrality" on the part of some members of the party in the PSE primaries to elect the candidates for Mayor of San Sebastián, after having lost in the militancy vote held this past Sunday against Marisol Garmendia.

The current second deputy mayor and spokesperson for the PSE-EE in the San Sebastián City Council, Marisol Garmendia, will finally be the Socialist candidate for Mayor of San Sebastián in the 2023 municipal elections after beating Odón Elorza in the primary process carried out by the formation with 222 votes from the militancy, compared to the 115 obtained by the ex-regidor from San Sebastian.

Despite having suspended the joint appearance that both were going to make this Monday at the PSE headquarters in San Sebastián due to Garmendia's "indisposition", Elorza has made statements to the media outside the headquarters, where he has indicated that he does not He was going to talk about his possible collaboration in the elections until he saw the official candidate in person.

After congratulating Garmendia on his victory and acknowledging his defeat in the primaries, the former mayor of San Sebastian criticized the "lack of neutrality" in the primary process. "I cannot hide the fact that there have been some actions that were far removed from the neutrality of some people or governing bodies of the party in San Sebastian," he maintained.

Finally, Odón Elorza has been convinced that the mayor, Eneko Goia, will have slept "at ease" when he learned that Garmendia had been the candidate chosen to run for Mayor of San Sebastian by the PSE.
