Echenique asks to give the cultural battle after Italian elections and accuses Feijóo of wanting to govern with the extreme right

MADRID, 27 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The spokesman for United We Can in Congress, Pablo Echenique, has called on the left to wage an "ideological battle" after the elections in Italy, with the victory of the leader of the Brothers of Italy Giorgia Meloni, and is convinced that the President of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, will open the door of the Council of Ministers to the extreme right if he has the opportunity.

At a press conference in the Lower House, he lamented that a "neo-fascist party" that vindicates a dictator like Benito Mussolini is going to hold the government of the third largest economy in the euro zone.

Therefore, he has called on all political actors in Spain to "take note" of what happened in Italy so as not to normalize "neo-fascism", given that in a year there will be general elections and there is the possibility of a Government of PP and Vox, led by Feijóo.

"The entrance door to the Council of Ministers of the extreme right is always made by the liberal right", Echenique has emphasized to criticize the fact that in Italy it is hand in hand with Silvio Berlusconi, who was "convicted of prostitution" in 2013 and that in Spain he can to be Feijoo

Consequently, he has urged "not to whitewash" the leader of the PP, who is not a moderate person and who has come to suggest that Sánchez could commit electoral fraud, as former US President Donald Trump launched with the assault on the Capitol, or keeps blocked in a "seditious" way the renewal of the General Council of the Judiciary.

In turn, the spokesman for the confederal group has stated that the Government, apart from this "ideological battle without complexes", must promote "courageous" and recognizable measures for its electorate, in order to meet the needs of the working class and consolidate the option that the left continues to govern.

Of course, he has claimed that the formation of a progressive coalition government has been "successful" and that it has managed to protect millions of Spaniards, draw up a multitude of laws that represent progress and raise the interprofessional minimum wage, among other actions.

Meanwhile, the spokeswoman for En Comú Podem in Congress, Aina Vidal, has described the result of the Italian elections as "worrying", given that a founding member of the European Union may approach the "authoritarianism" of Hungary and Poland.

In this way, he has censored the fact that the "homophobic" and "Eurosceptic" discourse has won the elections, since Meloni's formation makes hair stand on end with his opposition to same-sex marriage or his praise of "recent dictators."
