CEOE will continue negotiating the pension reform, but admits "lack of trust" towards the Government

MADRID, 13 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The vice president of the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE), Íñigo Fernández de Mesa, has guaranteed this Thursday that the employers remain "open to dialogue" on the pension reform, although he has admitted "lack of confidence" towards the Government.

The CEOE reproaches the Government for having raised the maximum contribution base by 8.6%, as stated in the project of the General State Budgets (PGE) for 2023, without previously discussing it with the social agents.

"That the Executive takes many measures related to social dialogue without a consultation, generates a lack of confidence," Fernández de Mesa told the media this Thursday.

Despite his misgivings towards the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, the vice president of the CEOE has insisted that businessmen "are always willing to dialogue" and has stressed that they have never stood at a negotiating table.

"There has to be trust between the parties. We will always be open to dialogue and it is important that there is trust," he added.
