The former mayor of Madrid Manuela Carmena has assured that the fact of not correcting the law of 'only yes is yes' is an attitude of "childish arrogance" and has assured that the Official State Gazette (BOE) "is full of rectifications".

This is how the retired judge expressed herself in an interview with El País, which was collected by Europa Press, about the reductions in sentences for rapists after the entry into force of the controversial law of comprehensive guarantee of sexual freedom of the Ministry of Equality. "Here there has been an attitude of childish arrogance and it cannot be touched," she added.

Carmena has also denied that the reduction in sentences is the fault of the magistrates. "Obviously not," said the former councilor, who regrets that "this has been addressed with so little intelligence."

In another key, the former mayor does not consider that the elimination of sedition and the reform of embezzlement were necessary. "You cannot change the Criminal Code without making an evaluation, but we have become accustomed to the fact that one way of doing politics is to modify laws with exclusive party criteria," she pointed out.

Asked about whether the Constitutional Court invaded the field of legislative power, the former leader of Más Madrid has described what happened as "shameful" because the High Court of guarantees has to be "political and not partisan." "But they did what the PP wanted", thus settled the matter.
