Carlos Slim is reinforced in Realia and exceeds 75% of the capital

MADRID, 14 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Mexican tycoon Carlos Slim, owner of the construction company FCC, has increased his controlling stake over the real estate developer Realia, in which he already concentrated some of FCC's real estate assets a year ago, to currently exceed 75% of the capital.

According to the records of the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV), Slim's company, Control Empresarial de Capitales (CEC), has acquired nearly 15 million additional shares of Realia in recent months.

At current market prices, these shares would be valued at 14.4 million euros. In total, it now has 616 million shares of Realia, which represents around 604 million euros, 75.1% of the capital.

The other significant shareholders of the promoter are the investment fund Polygon European, controlled by Eugene Griffith, which has 15% of the shares; and Blackwell Partners, which has another 5% of the capital.

In October of last year, Slim already carried out an important organizational change in the entire real estate perimeter of FCC, when this company acquired an additional direct participation of 13%. Of the 75% that Slim currently has in Realia, 52% is directly controlled by FCC.

This operation, together with the incorporation into the subsidiary FCC Inmobiliaria of 100% of the share capital of Jezzine Uno -a Carlos Slim company with a portfolio of 406 branches leased from CaixaBank-, allowed the FCC group to group together the entire real estate business and exploit all these assets in a unified way.

At that time, Realia's assets had a value of 1,935 million euros and FCC's real estate assets of 450 million euros. To this was added the 500 million euros of valuation of the CaixaBank branches, grouped in the company Jezzine Uno.
